Exciting News

In early October, we were appointed as the exclusive dealer for Fairline Yachts in the Pacific Northwest. Fairline has been building boats in the UK for over 50 years and have developed a strong reputation for their quality and performance. Under new leadership, Fairline has revamped the entire model line with the help of Italian designer, Alberto Mancini. Fairline has made a push to expand their business in the United States with new dealers and strong marketing campaign. We are joining the Fairline team at a very exciting time.

Fairline Yachts represents a very different boating lifestyle to Selenes. They will appeal more to the weekend boater who wants a yacht that can get them to their destination quickly. Fairlines range in size from 45ft to 68ft, very similar to Selenes, but have a top speed of 30 knots! We have our first stock boat on order, a Fairline Targa 45 GT, that will arrive in Seattle in Summer 2020. For more information about Fairline, you can visit their website at Fairline.com

We have been looking for new boats lines to represent for several years, in order to diversify our offering, and that became even more important with the imposition of the import tariff on Chinese boats. The timing of these tariffs couldn’t have been worse as we started to see interest in new Selenes really grow. When the tariff was at 10%, we were able to navigate around that. When the increase to 25% and 30% took place, it eliminated our ability to sell new Selenes to US buyers without passing off the entire cost to the client. We are looking forward to a trade agreement.

We will continue to support the Selene brand as we have in the past, and we are committed to providing service to all current & future owners. We will continue to be the active in brokerage sales and the market for Selenes remains very strong. We will also remain a sponsor for the annual Selenes Owner’s Rendezvous and the Selene Owners Site.

The other very exciting news is that we will be merging our service operation with Yacht Services on January 1. Yacht Services has been owned and managed by Grant MacDonald for the last 17 years and his reputation in the marine industry is nothing short of stellar. Grant will take over as General Manager of our service operation which will operate under the Yacht Services name. We will now have two locations on Lake Union for clients to bring their boats and a stronger mobile service operation.

Brian Taylor will transition to full times sales as our Sales Manager over the next six months and split time between Seattle & Anacortes. This is a move that Brian has been wanting for some time. Brian has had to wear two hats with sales and service for the last couple years and we’re really excited to provide him with the opportunity to move to full time sales. Brian will always be a resource to our ownership group for questions and assistance, with his seemingly endless knowledge of Selenes.

As a result of these changes, we have decided to change our company name to Pacific Northwest Yachts which will have three divisions; Selene Yachts, Fairline Yachts & Yacht Services. Our email addresses will also be changing but all current addresses will be forwarded to the new one.

We’d also like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season! We will be closed the week of Christmas and New Years’ but will be back in the office on January 2nd.
